Vist to Cartman Foundation
Cartman foundation eco-park is a beautiful natural environment park which is quite a relief to people with all kinds of respiratory problems in an otherwise polluted city of Bangalore, located in Koramangala third block, this park was visited on July 23, 2011 by the BSc I semester and V semester students along with 2 faculties from the Department of Biosciences, T. John College.
For many years, this trust has been maintained under the direction of Prof. N. S. Ramaswamy, former Director, IIM, Bangalore and his colleagues. The park has earned appreciation from many environmentalists who have visited it.
Once a virtual waste ground, the park now houses, several buildings, park seats, veterinary clinic, bamboo thickets and groves of bilva and kadamba trees, along with scores of medicinal and herbal plants. The trust also cleans up the environment by transforming the fallen leaves into manure through vermicomposting, soil erosion is prevented by bamboo thickets that ring the park and boulders are installed to add on a touch of natural feeling.
To sum up the students got to understand how important the nature is to us and their responsibility to conserve it. They took an oath to make a change each day to serve our mother nature.
